Finfoil provides polyethylene terephthalate (PET) film in gauges of between 8µm and 350µm.
This is a 3-layer co-extruded film with different surface finishes and treatments depending on its function or final application.

Select the application of interest:

PET plastic films for lamination and/or printing

These are films for lamination unaltered onto other substrates (plain lamination) or for printing with graphics of any kind and complexity which are then laminated onto other substrates (printed lamination).
For flexible food packaging the gauge used in the market is typically 12µm, with variations of 8, 9, 10, up to 50µm.
In industrial laminates the most commonly used gauges are 12µm, 19µm and 23µm, 36µm, 50µm and 75µm, the latter for more specific industrial applications.
Gauges of up to 350µm are typical of the industrial sector, ranging from laminated products for thermal or electric insulation, up to specialist applications for industries such as solar energy or plastifications.

Transparent PET barrier plastic films

The transparent barrier films distributed by Finfoil are used in multilayer structures designed to block the transmission of gas, oxygen, water vapour and UV rays, which are widely used in food and pharmaceutical packaging, especially where even partial transparency of the packaging is required.

The transparent barrier films for the industrial sector available from us provide a UV barrier which can be used, for example, in thermal insulationand construction and for other special industrial applications where this particular feature is required.

Metallized barrier PET Plastic films

Metallized films act as a barrier against the transmission of gas, oxygen, water vapour, light and can vary intensity according to the optical density of metallization, that is to the amount of aluminium sublimated on the surface of the film.
They are obviously non-transparent films and are often used to replace those substrates laminated with real aluminium foils.
The metallization homogeneity across the whole band of the film and the adhesion values of the metal on the plastic film are among the elements that demonstrate not only the characteristics required of the film, but also the skill of the manufacturer.
Metallized films are used in both the food and pharmaceutical flexible packaging sector and in industrial laminates.

PET Plastic Film Sealers

Sealing films mean PET self-sealing films:

  • APET
  • CPET
  • PP

Among the films distributed by Finfoil are co-extruded peelable and non peelable sealing films, in which the structure of the PET film includes an inert PET layer, an inner (core) PET layer and the final outer layer with a sealing polymer.
Among PET products we also have lacquered sealing films, in which the film's typical structure undergoes a subsequent lacquering process in which a sealing lacquer is applied.
All sealing films, whether peelable or not, can also be treated with anti-fog - a treatment which is useful in preventing the container lid from losing transparency and therefore the visibility of the product, which is often compromised by condensation that inevitably forms during temperature changes. These films are mostly used for flexible packaging applications.

PET plastic films for paper products

These films are intended to be laminated unaltered to paper or cardboardin order to obtain windows or plastifications.
Generally the gauge used for windows varies from 36µm to 250µm with high transparency qualities, while plastification is performed with 12µm, even metallized.
